At a glance
Built a live MVP that turns dated transactions into the first cash-shortfall date and amount needed, then generates 3/7/30-day action plans.
Problem
- A balance alone does not show which upcoming payment creates a shortfall
- Single-person households manage every payment without a fallback operator
My role

- AI and calculation logic
- MVP build
What I did
- Used synthetic transactions to model dated cash flows
- Separated AI interpretation from deterministic money and date calculations
- Rejected AI text when its numbers differed from calculation results

Dated transactions become a shortfall forecast.
The user confirms a starting balance, transaction labels, due dates, amounts and priorities. The calculation then identifies the first date the projected balance turns negative and the amount needed at that point.
That result becomes the evidence for 3-, 7- and 30-day action plans. The live experience uses only fictional transactions for a 31-year-old single-person household.
Reads 3 months of recurring transactions, classifies them (card bill, rent, recurring bills, phone, subscriptions, salary) and shows the next due date and amount.
Users correct the starting balance, labels, due dates, amounts and inclusion, then mark each payment as "must keep" or "can be deferred".
Choose one of four scenarios: 14-day hospitalization, income stop, lost phone / account protection, or urgent home repair. Its assumptions feed directly into the calculation.
Results screen that first shows the date money runs short and how much is needed, followed by a checklist of what to review now.
Action plans by time horizon, built from the calculation results, plus an expandable day-by-day balance trail.
